What is CMS+
Better CMS products
The newly developed CMS+ is an improvement of CMS (Condensed Molasses Fermentation Solubles) product. Other than the minerals, multivitamins, and sugar residue it originally contains, the CMS+ is also rich in amino acids. CMS+ has better nutritional values that include: reduced ammonium content by 30% compared to the original CMS product, increased the Dietary Cation-Anion Difference (DCAD) by more than 15%, contains more than 1.2% of polyphenol, and it has better flavor and taste; moreover, it will not crystallize in a cold winter climate (this is very important for production management and operational processes). All of these improvements in quality are made through improvements in various aspects such as extraction of glutamic acid (GA) and CMS production processes. The ammonium content has been greatly reduced to prevent the ammonium salt from salting out and crystallization in the cold winter climate. Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) is used to increase the DCAD value in CMS and improve the taste of CMS at the same time. Reducing the temperature of CMS concentration is able to help preserve the polyphenol content in CMS+. Polyphenol is an excellent and natural anti-free radical ingredient which can facilitate health functions such as improving immunity systems and maintaining a healthier condition. The antimicrobial effect of CMS+ is from the special DNA sequence of the fermentation strains of amino acid. This antimicrobial function can also greatly facilitate the natural preservation effect, stability, and taste of CMS. Generally speaking, CMS+ is a CMS product with higher nutritional value and better nutritional value makes CMS+ even more suitable for animal feed. The CMS+ product will not crystallize in cold winter climates, and thus CMS+ is a product widely used in cattle feed and other animal feed formulas.
Condensed Molasses Fermentation Solubles
In the process of making monosodium glutamate, molasses is the main raw material used for producing glutamic acid; the glutamic acid is segregated after fermentation and the remaining liquid is rich in bacterial protein, amino acids, vitamins, minerals and sugar residue; we condense this liquid to obtain the Condensed Molasses Fermentation Solubles (CMS).
It contains aforesaid various nutrient factors and it is low in price. Hence it has been used in animal feed in advanced countries in Europe and America since long ago. In the past few years, the Company has been aggressively introducing advanced condensation equipment from Germany and cooperating with domestic and foreign business operators to promote the application of CMS in agriculture and animal husbandry industry.
Soluble supplementary feed
Soluble supplementary feed is the company’s byproduct of molasses fermentation solubles generated in the process of making amino acid. It is a thick liquid with solid substance of more than 55% and it is an excellent feed supplement for ruminant animals such as cattle, sheep, and horses. In Europe and America, this kind of soluble supplementary feed is called Condensed Molasses Fermentation Solubles (CMS).
The condensed molasses fermentation solubles generally refer to the byproduct remains generated based on using molasses as raw material for producing fermented products such as amino acid, organic acid, alcohol and yeast by using the microbial fermentation method. In addition to preserving all the nutrients in molasses other than sucrose, it also contains more amino acids, vitamins, bacterial proteins and other special nutrients, compared to the molasses, which are produced during the fermentation process.
In Asia, the main source of condensed molasses fermentation solubles comes from the amino acid fermentation industry. In Europe, it mainly comes from the alcohol industry and the yeast industry. The condensed molasses fermentation solubles produced by the Company refers to the byproduct generated from the production of two amino acids, namely glutamic acid (food condiment) and lysine (animal nutrients). The condensed molasses fermentation solubles is mainly used as feed additives in the animal husbandry industry for replacing molasses and some protein content in feed, so as to reduce the use of molasses and protein materials in the industry.
As for the domestic feed industry, the Company has commissioned the Kimpex Bio., an animal nutrition and additives company, to sell the Company’s CMS products.
Most of the CMS products applied in the foreign feed are mixed with byproducts (molasses, vinasse, and whey industry) into soluble feed, which is directly used as feed or added to fodder and formula feed for ruminant animals such as cattle and sheep. The amount of soluble feed used in European and American countries is quite huge as they have many large farms. It is estimated to be about 3 to 4 million metric tons per year. Taiwan does not have large farms due to the limitation of farmland in Taiwan, and hence it is not common to directly add CMS to the feed for ruminant animals. The domestic use of CMS for the feed of ruminant animals is such that the feed manufacturers add the CMS to the feed before selling it to the animal husbandry industry.
As we do not have much information regarding poultry (such as chickens, and ducks) in foreign countries, the Company has developed cooperation plans with the research institutions of various universities and colleges for use of CMS in feed for poultry and achieved very good results. The advantages for the use of CMS in domestic and foreign feed are as follows:
The benefits of adding condensed molasses fermentation solubles to the feed
- It can provide nutrients such as protein, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals; its nutritional value is higher than molasses.
- It has good flavor, good taste, an appealing appearance, good palatability for animals, and hence their feed intake will increase.
- Increase the stickiness of the feed and reduce the generated powder dust when pelletizing the feed.
- Making its cost more competitive. Therefore, all major domestic feed companies have started to use our Company's CMS as supplementary materials for animal and aquatic feed.
The methods of use condensed molasses fermentation solubles are as follows:
- Spray directly on forage grass or feed.
- Mix it in feed when pelletizing, to enhance the pelleting quality and reduce powder dust.
- Mixed with a certain ratio of molasses before adding to the feed. The condensed molasses fermentation solubles are mixtures with low cost, high protein and high quality. The use of condensed molasses fermentation solubles is able to reduce the used amount of soybean powder and molasses. It is an ideal additive for soluble feed and it has been used in advanced countries in Europe and America for more than decades.
Organic fertilizer
Except for being used as feed, CMS also contains the elements required for the growth of plants such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, as well as a variety of micro elements, and hence it can also be used as a good fertilizer for crops. We have commissioned the Green Agrochem Ltd., and the Guan Jun Agriculture Technology develop CO., LTD. are a professional manufacturer of organic fertilizers, for promotion of the agricultural market. The Green Agrochem Ltd. and the Guan Jun Agriculture Technology develop CO., LTD. has exclusive and extensive experience in organic materials and the current promotion status is as follows:
Organic soluble fertilizer
The Company mixes various CMS soluble fertilizers for the use of different crops. The advantage of these fertilizers is that they are inexpensive and they can be applied during the irrigation with water. Therefore, it can save manpower significantly. At present, they are mainly used in orchards, forage grass, and vegetables.
Solid fertilizer
It is a dried mixture of CMS and lime, etc. Its advantage is to vitalize the soil and enhance fertility. It can be applied to orchards, vegetable farms, vegetables, and flowers.
Organic fertilizer
CMS can be made into organic fertilizer after being mixed with agricultural byproducts, livestock excrement, and urban waste. Presently, it has great future prospects as the government is aggressively promoting organic farming with the increasing trend of organic food in the private sector.
Special usage
It can increase the fertility of soil when used with herbicides. In addition, it has been actively promoted to use in the culture ponds of giant river prawns and clams as a water quality toner, to facilitate the growth of algae and increase the growth rate of prawns and clams, which has great economic value and development potential.
CMS has been widely used in Europe and America for many years. We have invested a lot of capital to purchase production equipment and devoted much effort in the promotion of both domestic and international sales of CMS. The Company continues to enhance knowhow in the CMS applications by actively cooperating with various academic research institutions and business operators in developing varied the applications of CMS in agriculture and animal husbandry industry in the future. It aspires to establish a comprehensive CMS usage model and promote the products worldwide.
